## FAQ

### Where is my API key stored? Can HolaClaw see it?

Your key stays on your Mac, inside your assistant's private virtual machine. It's never sent to our servers — we can't see your key or your usage.

### Who bills me for usage?

The provider does, directly. HolaClaw doesn't add any markup or handle payment — your Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google bill is between you and them. Local models cost nothing to run.

### How do I rotate or revoke a key?

Revoke the key in your provider's console at any time — your assistant will stop responding until you give it a new one. Generate a fresh key and update it in the assistant's settings.

### Can I switch providers later?

Not on an existing assistant — there's currently no way to change the provider or model after creation. The choice is made when you create an assistant, so to move to a different provider, create a new assistant with it.
